I figure if I have to count things like the 2 times we got totally scammed in vietnam (which ended up costing us ~$100 extra) I can count the time where we scored with a free room.

We paid $1791.56 for two round trip tickets to Bangkok (from LAX but the cost from NYC was actually pretty similar) which is likely a bit more than you'd pay to fly to Europe but not enough more to even out the costs. Travel in SEA is for sure cheaper than most travel in th e western world though you might be able to get a cheaper overall trip if you headed to one of the poorer regions of South America (since the flight cost would be a lot less).Briannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10801244249821784750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687811.post-8619797799372954282010-05-18T17:08:53.162-04:002010-05-18T17:08:53.162-04:00Are you counting the 4 days where you didn't c...Are you counting the 4 days where you didn't count the cost of the hotel or the scuba lessons as days in your average? 4 days of food costs only would totally skew your overall averages, wouldn't it? Also, how much does the cost of travel (to and from SEA) affect the overall cost (versus going somewhere more expensive, but cheaper to get to)?

I'm kind of a nerd, but I'm also sick of stats, so take this with a grain of salt...amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10978059909146030765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23687811.post-21009946803611297662010-05-18T12:15:58.752-04:002010-05-18T12:15:58.752-04:00You went over budget even though you didn't co...You went over budget even though you didn't count flights, souvenirs, your scuba diving class and the entire last leg of your trip? That is a Jonathan Papelbon-sized FAIL.

The fact that you spent three months gallavanting in SEA while we were stuck here slaving away, however ... ;)Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09684334833086483334noreply@blogger.com
